International Youth Day
The United Nations’ (UN) International Youth Day is celebrated on August 12 each year to recognize efforts of the world’s youth in enhancing the global society. The TERI SAS also aims to promote ways to engage students in becoming more active in making positive contributions to their communities. In 2014, it celebrated International Youth Day by planting trees in front of TU campus. Students actively volunteered in planting several native species in the area and planted over 100 saplings on a single day.
TERI SAS students participate in Independence Day celebrations every year at TERI. However, this year, for the first time the TERI SAS celebrated Independence Day both on campus and TERI. Celebrations included a skit, musical and dance performances by students.
Annually students organize cultural / ethnic day where they wear traditional clothes, prepare traditional food and participate in their traditional art (dance / music) on campus. Students also engage in celebrating different festivals on campus.
The intra-university Sports Meet is an annual sports extravaganza organized by the TERI SAS's Sports Club. It's a two week long event, which includes sports like badminton, table tennis, cricket, athletics, volleyball, football, basketball and carom. All the sports events take place on campus except cricket and athletics, which are held in TERI Gram, TERI’s Retreat Centre in Gurgaon.
Throughout the year, the TERI SAS familiarizes students to diverse environmental issues by organizing workshops, seminars and special guest lectures. Students also get an opportunity to participate in events off campus including field visits.
