Doctoral students invited in Applied Microeconometrics
Doctoral Students in Aerosol Studies, The Centre for Regulatory and Policy Research, Faculty of Policy and Planning, TERI University, invites applications for one doctoral position on the topic related to particulate air pollution over India.
The focus of the research is on the characterization of the physical, chemical and radiative properties of aerosols and their variability with season and anthropogenic activities. Accordingly, the main objectives are
i) to characterize the basic properties (total particle mass and number concentration, particle size distribution, absorption and scattering coefficient) of regional background aerosols, including their seasonal cycle and long-term trend. ii) to estimate the contributions of various anthropogenic (fossil fuel and biofuel combustion) and natural sources of particulate pollution.
This would be a fulltime doctoral position. The research work on this topic is being conducted by TERI in collaboration with the Finnish Meteorological Institute. There would be a provision to have a co-supervisor from Finnish Meteorological Institute.
Qualifications Master’s degree (M.Sc./ M. Tech.) with minimum 60% marks in the fields of atmospheric science/ physics/ meteorology/ environmental engineering
Scientific interest in field based experiments and statistical data analysis is required.
Programming skills in the LabView and MATLAB software packages are welcome.
