Position: Research Associate (on contractual basis) in Indian Council of Social Sciences Research (ICSSR) funded project titled "Urban Transition beyond Municipal Boundaries: A Comparative Spatial Analysis of the Peri-Urban Areas of Gurugram and Noida"

Job description and responsibilities:
The project primarily focusses on changes in demographic, land use and livelihoods in the peri-urban areas of Gurugram and Noida. The RA will undertake literature review, data mining from secondary sources, field work in peri urban villages for data collection, interactions with government, non-government and other stakeholders, analysis of land use change through remotely sensed data, data tabulation and analysis, mapping, and report writing.

Duration: 12 Months

Eligibility:
1: Master’s in Geography/Sociology/Geoinformatics/Planning/Law with a minimum of 65% marks or CGPA of 7.0. M.Phil. in a social science discipline with a minimum of 60% marks is desirable.
2: Must have established skills in using and applying GIS and Remote Sensing.
3: Must be proficient in MS-Excel; software (SPSS/STATA) usage is desirable.
4: Must have a good command over English and Hindi languages.
5: A prior experience of conducting field work is desirable.

Emolument: Rs. 20,000 per month (consolidated)

Job description and responsibilities:
Enhancing water quality in Uttarakhand using Geospatial Technology

WTI Programme, Department of Science and Technology

Duration: 2 Years

Eligibility:
For Non-NET JRF:
1: PhD Scholar working in Ground Water modelling study / Hydrological modelling systems or M.Tech (Remote sensing) with 60% marks; or equivalent CGPA having experience in Hydrological / Ground Water modelling.
2: M.Sc. (Geoinformatics) with 60% marks or equivalent CGPA having more than one year experience in area of Hydrological / Ground Water modelling systems.

NET JRF1: MSc in Chemistry/Environmental Science with 60% marks or equivalent CGPA having more than one year experience in area of Hydrological / Ground Water modelling systems.
(as per DST, GoI norms)

Monthly Stipend: Fellowship @Rs 25000/-pm + HRA @20% per month


Terms and conditions:

1. Six working days in a week.
2. Frequent visit to Uttarakhand for data collection and ground truthing.
3. Maintenance of strict confidentiality with regard to all data created and collected during the project.
